In this world, we have to learn to cope with the adversity that comes our way because troubles are always around the corner; sickness, death, job loss, breakups… all are common to man. No one is exempted. “Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward” Job 5:9.
The Bible says that God does not leave us to be consumed by troubles. There will always be a way out if we continue to trust Him. “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will provide a way out so that you can stand up under it”. 1 Corinthians 10:13
God’s Word also promises that teachers will be available to guide, comfort and encourage us. This includes God’s word, the Holy Spirit, and even ordinary people with the necessary wisdom and/or experience. “Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them”. Isaiah 30:20
